Our client has earned an enviable reputation in the industry for successfully self-delivering projects in the North West of England involving significant earthworks, soil stabilisation, site remediation including associated drainage, infrastructure and RC concrete across the highway, energy, residential and commercial sectors for private developers, public bodies and tier 1 contractors.
Contracts Manager Responsibilities:
* Capable of managing multi-disciplinary teams on a number of concurrent projects
* Experience managing contractual issues in a similar environment (Tier 2 Contractor)
* Must have demonstrable experience of managing & planning projects involving earthworks, site remediation and soil stabilisation
* Must have a working knowledge of the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (specification for highway works)
* Need to have an appreciation for the machinations of Series 600 of the above specification i.e. the testing requirements/methods and geotechnical properties of soils (basic soil mechanics)
* Project programming capabilities – Microsoft Project
* Cost management and cost forecasting skills
* Self-starters capable of working under their own steam and not afraid to push the boundaries of new ideas and new technologies to save time & cost to improve margin
* Customer friendly
* Contract savvy
* Problem solving
* Health, Safety and Quality focused
Contracts Manager Requirements:
* Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent)
* Civil engineering experience inclusive of Earthworks
* Experienced Contracts Manager, however, will strongly consider a good PM that's ready to make the step up into a CM role
* Excellent communication, people and team management skills
* Experienced managing contracts, projects, programs, budgets etc
