Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting the organisation’s budgeting and planning processes. This role requires a strong understanding of cost control principles and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, suppliers, and clients to ensure competitive and realistic pricing. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Duties

* Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.

* Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information.

* Develop comprehensive budgets that include labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.

* Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and update estimates as required.

* Assist in analysing project risks and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

* Prepare clear and professional tender submissions within specified deadlines.

* Support the procurement team by providing cost analysis and supplier evaluations.

* Maintain organised records of all estimates, quotations, and related documentation for future reference.

* Liasie with sub-contractors to obtain prices outside of our internal services.

Qualifications

* Proven experience in estimating within a relevant industry sector.

* Strong understanding of cost control techniques and budgeting principles.

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Proficient in estimating software programmes and Microsoft Office applications.

* Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, suppliers, and clients.

* Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in all work outputs.

* Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction management, engineering, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
