MEP Manager – Design & Technical Assurance
Location: West London area
PSR is currently working with a leading main contractor to recruit an experienced MEP Manager for a technically demanding construction project. Our client delivers complex schemes and is seeking a building services professional with a strong emphasis on design coordination, technical review, and site inspections.
This role would suit an MEP Manager who is confident interrogating detailed subcontractor designs, ensuring technical compliance, and maintaining high-quality installation standards throughout delivery.
The Role
As MEP Manager, you will take ownership of the mechanical and electrical elements of the project from a technical and quality perspective. You will work closely with design teams, specialist subcontractors, and site management to ensure that building services designs are fully coordinated, technically robust, and correctly installed on site.
This position places a strong emphasis on design understanding, inspections, and technical problem-solving, rather than purely programme or commercial management.
Key Responsibilities
Review, manage, and coordinate detailed MEP designs produced by specialist subcontractors
Ensure all building services designs meet technical, regulatory, and employer's requirements
Lead technical workshops and design reviews with consultants and supply chain partners
Carry out regular site inspections to verify quality, compliance, and buildability
Identify and resolve technical issues before they impact programme or quality
Support commissioning, testing, and handover of building services systems
Work closely with construction teams to ensure designs are delivered as intended
Candidate Requirements
Strong background in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering
Proven experience in an MEP Manager, Technical Services Manager, or similar role
Excellent understanding of detailed MEP design, coordination, and specifications
Experience reviewing subcontractor design packages in a main contractor environment
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards
Confident communicator with the ability to challenge and influence technically
Full right to work in the UK
