Role Overview
We are a Leicester-based construction specialist delivering high-quality cladding, façade, and remedial projects across the UK. We are seeking a Deputy Design Manager to support the Design Manager in coordinating and managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion.

This role is critical in ensuring design compliance, coordination, and buildability, working closely with consultants, suppliers, and site teams to resolve technical and design-related issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Design Manager in managing the design process from pre-construction to project completion

*

Coordinate and manage design information between consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams

*

Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical submissions for accuracy and compliance

*

Support compliance with UK Building Regulations, industry standards, and project-specific requirements

*

Assist the Design Manager with Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements, including Gateway submissions

*

Attend and contribute to site meetings, design workshops, and coordination meetings

*

Support the Design Manager in responding to site queries and resolving design-related issues

*

Undertake site visits to understand construction progress and identify design impacts or risks

*

Assist in managing design changes and ensuring updates are communicated to relevant stakeholders

*

Actively develop technical, regulatory, and construction knowledge, particularly in façade and remedial works

Skills & Experience

*

Experience in a design, technical, or design coordination role within the construction industry

*

Strong understanding of the construction design process and full project lifecycle

*

Ability to read, interpret, and interrogate technical drawings and documentation

*

Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and familiarity with BSR processes

*

Understanding of passive fire protection principles, particularly relevant to cladding and façade systems

*

Experience using digital design management platforms (e.g. Procore, Viewpoint, Asite)

*

Working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D and 3D)

*

Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams

*

Organised, methodical, and capable of managing multiple workstreams

*

Proactive, solution-focused, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving

*

High attention to detail with a practical mindset
