About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join a hugely respected regional main contractor. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, supporting tender submissions, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects

Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents

*

Conduct take-offs and quantify materials, labour, and plant costs

*

Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations

*

Prepare and submit tender documentation within deadlines

*

Identify risks and opportunities within project budgets

*

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams

*

Maintain cost databases and pricing schedules

*

Assist with value engineering and cost control where required

Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Construction Estimator

*

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing

*

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

*

Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills

*

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel

*

Strong communication and negotiation skills

*

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Desirable (but not essential)

*

Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar

*

Knowledge of local building regulations and standards
