A client within the Public Sector, based in Warwickshire, is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Assets Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority or public sector environment.

The Role
Key Purpose of the Role To undertake a full range of Project Management and Building Surveying duties in order to maintain and improve the Council’s property portfolio and housing stock, ensuring all landlord and service provider responsibilities are met in line with current and forthcoming legislation.

Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Planning, specifying, procuring, managing and delivering planned works projects and cyclical maintenance contracts across the Council’s asset portfolio
Undertaking stock condition surveys, measured surveys, defect inspections, feasibility studies and post-inspections
Preparing technical reports, drawings, tender and works specifications, RIBA work plans and statutory applications
Managing and administering contracts, including valuations, interim payments, final accounts and contractor performance
Acting as a point of contact for clients and customers, providing technical advice and managing enquiries through to completionThe Candidate
Essential Qualifications & Experience To be considered for this role, you will require:

HNC, HND or Degree in a discipline relevant to the built environment or a proven track record with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant role
Experience of working within a local authority, housing provider or public sector organisation
Experience of undertaking building surveys and managing resultant worksDesirable Experience & Skills The following would be beneficial for the role:

Experience of project managing major works in occupied homes or business premises
Experience of managing and monitoring project budgets
Membership (or working towards membership) of RICS, CIOB, MCABE or equivalentThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22 per hour PAYE).
