The Client:
A well-established and respected construction contractor operating across the public and private sectors, with a strong track record of securing and delivering framework and tendered work. With a consistent pipeline of opportunities and a focus on quality, compliance and delivery, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Bid Writer to support continued growth.

The Role:
As Bid Writer, you’ll take responsibility for producing high-quality, compliant and compelling tender submissions for public sector contracts. Working closely with senior management, pre-construction and operational teams, you’ll manage the full bid lifecycle — from PQQ and SQ responses through to full ITT submissions. This is a senior role suited to someone with extensive construction industry experience and a proven background in public sector bidding.

Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation of PQQs, SQs and ITT submissions for public sector construction tenders.

*

Produce clear, persuasive and fully compliant written responses aligned to evaluation criteria.

*

Coordinate input from internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and consistency across submissions.

*

Develop and maintain bid libraries, case studies and standard responses.

*

Review tender documentation to identify risks, opportunities and key client drivers.

*

Manage bid programmes and ensure all deadlines are met.

*

Support post-tender reviews and continuous improvement of bid quality and win rates.

Qualifications & Experience:

*

Proven experience as a Bid Writer within the construction industry is essential.

*

Strong background in writing for public sector contracts, frameworks and compliant tenders.

*

Excellent written English with the ability to tailor content to different clients and evaluation models.

*

Strong understanding of construction processes, terminology and project delivery.

*

Highly organised, detail-driven and comfortable working to tight deadlines.

*

Confident working independently and engaging with senior stakeholders.

Salary & Package:

*

Salary circa £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

*

Long-term, stable role within an established contractor.
