About the Role:
Our client, a specialist Planned Works division within a national construction and refurbishment organisation, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of up to 8–9 concurrent refurbishment and planned works projects. The role offers responsibility for the full commercial and contractual management of multiple projects, ensuring delivery within budget, on programme, and to high quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead commercial and contractual management for multiple projects simultaneously, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

Manage subcontractor agreements, procurement, and contract administration.

*

Review and negotiate variation orders, claims, and payments in line with company policy.

*

Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures to ensure programme and budget adherence.

*

Provide accurate reporting to senior management and clients on commercial and contractual matters.

*

Ensure all works comply with building regulations, fire safety requirements, and quality standards.

*

Support project teams with commercial guidance, dispute resolution, and contractual advice.

*

Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in construction, refurbishment, or planned works, managing multiple projects concurrently.

*

Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and commercial management practices.

*

Excellent organisational, analytical, and negotiation skills.

*

Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.

*

Professional qualifications in construction, contracts, or project management (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) are desirable.
