Electrical Estimator

Overview

We are currently seeking an Electrical Estimator in Blackpool to support a growing pipeline of retail fit-out, refurbishment and roll-out projects delivered across the UK.

This is a key role within a busy estimating function, pricing work ranging from smaller refurbishments through to large-scale, fast-track roll-out programmes. If you enjoy working at pace, building accurate tenders, and supporting bids through to award, this offers a strong long-term opportunity within a business that’s continuing to grow.

About the Company

Our client is a well-established electrical contractor specialising in retail environments, known for delivering fast, efficient and high-quality installations for nationally recognised brands.

Due to continued expansion, they are strengthening their estimating team to support an expanding retail portfolio. Client name will remain confidential during early stages of the process.

What You’ll Be Doing

Preparing detailed estimates and cost breakdowns for retail electrical installations

*

Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents to confirm scope

*

Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations

*

Producing bills of materials and identifying value engineering options

*

Supporting bid submissions and contributing to tender presentations where required

*

Working closely with delivery teams to ensure a smooth handover from estimate to project start

*

Maintaining accurate records of pricing, supplier information and tender documentation

Skills & Experience Required

*

Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within retail fit-out or commercial fit-out

*

Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials and installation techniques

*

Comfortable working with fast-track or phased retail programmes

*

Proficient in MS Excel with a clear, organised approach to tender documentation

*

Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

*

Strong communication, numeracy and time-management skills

Desirable

*

HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services

*

Experience pricing works for national retail clients

*

Awareness of common contract forms such as JCT or NEC
