Our client is an award-winning market leading infrastructure provider within South Wales. With the assistance of other companies within the Group, they specialise in the self-delivery of high-quality Civil Engineering projects for both public and private sector clients.

Due to the consistent growth of their business over recent years and the recently awarded Highways and Structures Framework, they are seeking a dynamic and driven individual who wants to join our Commercial Team as a Site/Project Quantity Surveyor. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, practical, and possess excellent communication and presentation skills allied to a strong track record of delivery within the civil engineering industry.

The Key Duties Involve:

* Understanding, preparing and presenting monthly cost/value (CVR’s) and/or work in progress (WIP’s) reports with input and assistance from the Project Team.

* Experience of working with, negotiating and understanding the NEC contracts.

* Preparation of monthly cost plans identifying and providing justification for periodic or completion movements.

* Regular communication and liaison with the project team to identify and manage both contractors and client risk.

* Ability to prioritise and schedule workload enabling the meeting of external and internal submission deadlines such as Client application submission dates and Centregreat period end reporting dates. submissions.

* Enthusiasm and commitment to work alongside colleagues in a joint effort to drive the business forward.

* Working collaboratively with the department and project teams to ensure contract administration and internal processes are improved and maintained to the maximum standard.

* Understanding and experience in project programmes and critical paths

* Producing, submitting, substantiating and agreeing monthly Applications for Payment to the point of Certification.

* Positively maintaining and building relationships with our existing clients and supply chain.

* Awareness and monitoring of all site activities on allocated projects in order to influence decision-making from a commercial perspective.

* Producing, submitting, substantiating and negotiating external Final Accounts.

* Subcontract administration including but not limited to procurement, management, administration and Final Account agreement.

* Ability to identify, quantify, value, submit and manage change requests/compensation events through to agreement with our clients.

* Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

* Good interpersonal communication, listening, and negotiation skills

* Confidence in providing good quality written and oral communication.

* A Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar

* MRICS qualified or a commitment to professionally develop
