Estimator

A well-established contractor operating within the groundworks and reinforced concrete (RC frame) sector is seeking an Intermediate Estimator to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator looking to develop their career on large-scale residential and mixed-use projects.

The Role
You will support the estimating function on a range of groundworks and RC frame tenders, working closely with senior estimators and the wider pre-construction team. The role offers exposure to complex projects and clear progression opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

– Assisting with the preparation of tenders for groundworks and RC frame packages
– Taking off quantities from drawings and specifications
– Pricing materials, labour, and plant
– Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
– Supporting value engineering and cost planning exercises
– Helping prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation

About You
This role would suit an estimator with some hands-on experience in groundworks and/or RC frame projects who had around 3-5 years in the industry.

You will ideally have:
– 3–5 years’ experience in estimating within groundworks, RC frames, or heavy civil engineering

– A good understanding of construction drawings and specifications
– Strong numerical and analytical skills
– Proficiency in Excel and estimating software (e.g. Causeway, Conquest, or similar)
– A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from senior team members
