Electrical Shift Engineer – Commercial FM

Location: South Bank, London

Shift Pattern: Days & Nights (Continental Shift)

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Up to £48,750 per annum

A leading Facilities Management provider is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer to join a high-profile commercial site in South Bank. This is a critical role within a 24/7 operation, offering long-term stability and excellent earning potential in a flagship London location.

The Role

Working as part of a professional shift team, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and fault-finding of all electrical building services, ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, and fully operational at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works

Fault-find on lighting, power, emergency lighting, distribution boards, UPS, and generators

Monitor and respond to BMS and alarm systems

Complete permits to work, shift handovers, and maintenance documentation

Support statutory compliance and site audits

Liaise with management, subcontractors, and the wider engineering team

Provide first-line response to electrical breakdowns and emergencies

What They Are looking For

NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering

18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Experience in commercial or critical environments

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Ability to workdays and nights as part of a shift team

Professional, safety-focused approach
