Junior Planner required for a Major Healthcare Project based in Belfast

An award-winning Top Tier MEP Contractor, experiencing continuous growth and an enviable client base throughout the UK&I, is seeking a Junior Planner for a multi-million pound major healthcare project in Belfast.
Your new role
The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing and coordinating project programmes, collaborating with the Senior Planner to ensure timely delivery and efficient resource allocation. This position involves close cooperation with both office-based and site-based staff, contractors, and suppliers to maintain consistency and alignment throughout all phases of MEP projects.
- Develop, maintain, and review project programmes at both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
- Generate progress reports and update project schedules and forecasts using software like Microsoft Project or Asta.
- Utilise project management tools to effectively plan and manage project timeframes.
- Collaborate with Estimators to determine the resources needed for projects.
- Create contingency plans to address potential changes in project timelines.
- Meet with contractors and suppliers to discuss and review programme-related issues.
- Coordinate between office and site teams to ensure consistency in programmes and sequencing.
- Develop procurement and design programmes that align with agreed construction timelines.
- Conduct critical reviews of programmes for Extension of Time (EOT) requests, identifying delays, hold-ups, and additional work.
- Maintain a basic understanding of EOT/Compensation Events requirements to ensure accurate programme adjustments.
What you’ll need to succeed
- 1+ years experience working as a Planner with good knowledge of UK Building Regulations
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in using planning software such as Asta and Microsoft Project.
- Analytical thinking with a focus on problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Persistence, determination, and a results-driven mindset.
- Possession of a valid UK driving licence.
