Construction Plant Manager
I'm working on behalf of an up-and-coming client, within the Earthworks & Groundworks sector, to recruit a Plant Manager to their team on a permanent basis. This role will be based around the Worcestershire area. In essence, we'd like to progress with someone that has been 'hands on' and has moved into a Plant Manager role.
Plant Manager Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day management, allocation, and utilisation of plant and machinery across multiple sites
Ensure all plant is serviced, maintained, and compliant with LOLER/PUWER and manufacturer standards
Coordinate plant logistics, including deliveries, collections, and off-hire scheduling
Manage plant operators, fitters, and external suppliers to ensure efficient operations
Monitor plant costs, usage, fuel consumption, and hire charges to support cost control
Implement and enforce health & safety procedures relating to plant operation on site
Maintain accurate records of inspections, defects, repairs, and certification
Support procurement of plant, equipment, and attachments for project needs
Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency and reduce downtime
Plant Manager Requirements
Knowledge and understanding of construction plant machinery
Plant Management experience is preferred
Understanding of site procedures and requirements
Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
A 'hands on' approach and 'can do' attitude essential
