Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business based in Hull. The role will focus on producing accurate 3D designs and manufacturing drawings to support production, new product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Utilise 3D CAD software (SOLIDWORKS Professional 2021) and PDM systems to create detailed manufacturing drawings and machining data

*

Manage, update, and maintain existing drawings and design documentation

*

Work closely with internal departments including sales and interior design to ensure designs meet customer and project specifications

*

Ensure all designs comply with company standards and manufacturing requirements

*

Provide technical CAD support to internal teams, primarily using SOLIDWORKS

*

Support continuous improvement activities related to products and manufacturing processes

*

Work alongside manufacturing teams to help identify, investigate, and resolve design-related issues

*

Follow the New Product Development (NPD) process and assist with prototyping activities

*

Maintain high standards of quality across both product design and manufacturing processes

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

*

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a 3D CAD design role

*

Proficient in SOLIDWORKS (or similar software such as Inventor or Pro Engineer)

*

Experience or knowledge of furniture design and construction concepts is desirable

*

Understanding of timber stud wall construction is advantageous

*

CAD/CAM experience and program nesting knowledge would be beneficial

*

Background in industries such as holiday homes, modular buildings, or similar manufacturing environments is preferred
