Health & Safety Manager – Groundworks & RC Frames

Manchester – Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum + benefits package

About the Company:

A leading construction contractor specialising in reinforced concrete (RC) frame and groundwork projects across the North West, delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient construction solutions.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a NEBOSH-qualified Health & Safety Manager with strong experience in groundworks and RC frame projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance across all projects, developing proactive safety strategies, and fostering a culture of safety excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage health and safety across multiple projects, including RC frame and groundworks sites.

Develop, implement, and monitor H&S policies and procedures.

Conduct risk assessments, site audits, and inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.

Provide expert H&S advice to project teams, management, and subcontractors.

Investigate incidents and near-misses, producing reports and recommending corrective actions.

Deliver H&S training to staff and subcontractors to raise awareness and competency.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant H&S legislation and industry standards.

Support the business in achieving ISO 45001 or other relevant H&S accreditations.

Requirements:

NEBOSH qualification (Diploma preferred).

Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager in construction, specifically with groundworks and RC frame projects.

In-depth knowledge of UK construction H&S legislation, regulations, and best practices.

Experience conducting risk assessments, site audits, and incident investigations.

Strong communication, leadership, and influencing skills.

Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities effectively.
