Small Works Manager

We are currently working with a well-established contractor based in Kent, who are looking to appoint an experienced Small Works Manager with a strong background in fire door works.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional who is confident in managing multiple small projects while ensuring full compliance with fire safety and building regulations.

The Role – Small Works Manager (Fire Doors)
You will be responsible for overseeing and delivering small works projects, with a particular focus on fire door installation, maintenance, and remedial works. The role will involve managing site teams, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, and to the required standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing multiple small works projects across Kent and surrounding areas

*

Overseeing fire door installation, repairs, and inspections

*

Ensuring all fire door works comply with current legislation and standards (including BM TRADA / FIRAS where applicable)

*

Supervising site operatives and subcontractors

*

Carrying out site visits, surveys, and quality inspections

*

Managing schedules, materials, and minor budgets

*

Liaising with clients, internal teams, and suppliers

*

Ensuring health & safety compliance at all times

*

Completing project documentation and reporting progress

About You:

*

Proven experience as a Small Works Manager or similar role

*

Strong, demonstrable experience working with fire doors

*

Good knowledge of fire safety regulations and compliance standards

*

Strong organisational and communication skills

*

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

*

SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred)

*

Full UK driving licence
