A well-established, medium-sized civil engineering contractor based in Somerset is seeking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support its expanding commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Assistant QS looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and stable business, delivering a diverse range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the South West.
The Role
Working closely with the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyors, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with cost control and financial reporting on live projects
Supporting the preparation of valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
Assisting with subcontractor procurement, including enquiries, comparisons, and appointments
Helping to manage subcontractor accounts and variations
Supporting tender preparation and cost planning when required
Working collaboratively with site teams to ensure best commercial practice
About You

Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within civil engineering or construction
Degree-qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
Good communication skills with a proactive, professional approach
Keen to learn, develop, and progress within a growing contractor
