Lead Quantity Surveyor – First Commercial Hire (High-End Residential)

Location: Oxford (Covering Cotswolds projects)

Salary: £80,000 + Package (Negotiable based on experience)

Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

Are you an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to move away from corporate bureaucracy and into a role where you have genuine influence?

Our client is a premier specialist in high end residential refurbishments and bespoke, one-off new builds across the Cotswolds. Following a period of rapid growth, they are now looking for their first dedicated Commercial hire to join the senior leadership team in Oxford.

This isn’t just a QS job; it is an opportunity to spearhead a department. You will be responsible for building the commercial framework of the business from the ground up, with the view to growing and leading a team as the company continues to scale.

The Role

As the first Commercial lead, you will have a seat at the table to define how the business operates. Key responsibilities include:

System Implementation: Designing and implementing modern commercial procedures and reporting structures.

Tech & AI Integration: Embracing and leading the rollout of AI tools and software to automate workflows and enhance project accuracy.

Full Lifecycle Management: Managing costs for high-spec residential projects, from initial feasibility and procurement to final accounts.

Strategic Growth: Working directly with the Directors to protect margins and drive the profitability of a fast-growing portfolio.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a tech-forward professional who is frustrated by "traditional" construction methods and wants to innovate.

Experience: Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor (ideally within high-end residential or bespoke construction).

Tech-Savvy: A genuine interest in modern systems and a willingness to integrate AI into daily commercial operations.

Entrepreneurial Spirit: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, "startup" style environment where you are the sole commercial authority.

*

Local Knowledge: Based within commutable distance of Oxford and comfortable visiting high-end sites across the Cotswolds.
