Site Manager –Refurbishment Project

Location: Harpenden, Hertfordshire
Start Date: Early February
Contract Type: Freelance

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the refurbishment of a large cafeteria within an existing church building in Harpenden. This is a hands-on role overseeing day-to-day site operations from start to completion, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

* Overall management of the refurbishment works on site

* Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and deliveries

* Ensuring works are carried out in line with programme, drawings and specifications

* Maintaining high standards of health & safety, including site inductions and RAMS

* Liaising with the client, design team and church representatives as required

* Managing quality control and snagging through to completion

* Keeping accurate site records and progress reports

Project Details

* Refurbishment of a large cafeteria space

* Located within an old / historic church building, requiring care and sensitivity

* Live or semi-sensitive environment, with consideration for existing users and fabric

* Start on site: early February

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment projects

* Experience working in existing or historic buildings strongly preferred

* Strong organisational and communication skills

* SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS

* Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain programme momentum
