Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm

We are an established, family-run contracting business seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join our management team and oversee our busy transport operations.

We’re looking for someone with experience managing a fleet of HGVs, light commercial vehicles and plant machinery operating at FORS Silver level. However, we are also open to candidates who want to develop their skills further and work towards becoming a qualified Transport Manager.

Position Overview

This is a full-time role responsible for overseeing the fleet of vehicles and plant, ensuring compliance with transport regulations, and managing the day-to-day operations of the transport department. The successful candidate will play a key role in driver management, fleet maintenance, and supporting the continued growth and development of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Managing driver compliance and ensuring adherence to company policies and legislation

Overseeing the maintenance and operation of the fleet of vehicles and plant

*

Supervising and supporting the in-house workshop and mechanics

*

Planning and implementing fleet servicing and testing schedules

*

Managing the company’s bulk fuel supplies

*

Analysing tachograph data and ensuring compliance

*

Supporting driver recruitment and managing driver training and development programmes

*

Managing FORS compliance and ensuring certifications/accreditations are maintained

*

Managing the Operator Licence and ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met
