One of the largest steel fabricators in the industry, delivering major international projects, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team based in Bury. This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, technically complex steel or timber structures within a globally recognised fabrication business.

The position provides an attractive four-day working week, consistent daytime hours and exposure to landmark projects across the UK and overseas.

THE ROLE

As a Project Engineer, you will support the technical and delivery aspects of steel or timber fabrication projects from design through to manufacture and installation. Working closely with design, production and project management teams, you will help ensure technical compliance, programme coordination and smooth project execution.

Responsibilities include reviewing design information, coordinating technical queries, supporting fabrication and erection planning, managing technical documentation and assisting with value engineering and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have experience working as a Project Engineer within steel and/or timber structures, ideally in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. A solid understanding of structural principles, construction methods and relevant industry standards is essential.

You should be organised, detail-oriented and confident working across multiple workstreams, with strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Experience supporting international or large-scale projects would be advantageous.

PACKAGE

The role offers a competitive salary of £60,000 – £70,000 per annum, alongside a four-day working week, 08:00–16:00 working hours, and the opportunity to work on prestigious international projects for a market-leading steel fabricator based in Bury
