Site Agent
e are recruiting an experienced Freelance Site Agent to take responsibility for the delivery of a complex water infrastructure scheme in the East Midlands. The project involves the installation of approximately 2,000 metres of 355mm rising main, running through a combination of open fields and live urban highways, as well as works within an existing sewage treatment works.
The scope includes washouts, air valves and MIECA components, requiring a strong understanding of water industry standards, highway working, utility avoidance and safety-critical environments.
This role would suit a proactive Site Agent with a solid engineering background who can take full ownership of site delivery, safety, quality and programme.
The Role
As Site Agent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and safe delivery of the works, ensuring all activities are completed in line with contractual, safety and quality requirements. You will act as the key interface between site teams, subcontractors and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, programme and resource the works effectively to meet project milestones
Prepare, manage and monitor contract budgets and target programmes
Full control of site costs and efficient use of labour, plant and materials
Produce and manage high-quality CPPs, RAMS, ITPs, SOSB documentation, TBTs and construction programmes
Brief site teams and subcontractors on all safety, quality and programme requirements
Ensure works are delivered to specified quality standards and design requirements
Lead on Health, Safety and Environmental compliance, promoting best practice at all times
Undertake regular safety audits in conjunction with SHEQ teams and the client’s Health & Safety department
Manage site staff, subcontractors and operatives
Liaise closely with the Engineer’s Representative, Project Manager and Supervisors
Maintain comprehensive site records, ensuring accurate archiving and traceability
Oversee inspection, testing, commissioning and handover of completed works
Experience & Knowledge Required
Strong, demonstrable experience delivering STW infrastructure and water projects
Excellent understanding of highway works, working in live environments and avoiding underground services
Proven track record managing rising mains, pipelines and associated water infrastructure components
High level of competence in site safety leadership and compliance
Essential Requirements
Engineering background with HNC / HND in Civil Engineering (preferred)
CSCS Black Card (NVQ Level 6)
SMSTS – 5 Day (Essential)
First Aid at Work – Full 3 Day Course (Essential)
NRSWA Supervisor (Essential)
Ability to commute to site within 1 hour
