Quantity Surveyor
Linear Recruitment are currently partnering with company specialising in major projects to find a Quantity Surveyor in York.
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for running multiple projects at once including subcontract procurement, payments and measures, cost management and valuations, build estimates and variation costings, forecasting and cost value reporting.
Responsibilities
Prepare and issue Account Development Review to Clients regularly
Ensure the CPR Spreadsheet is updated on an ongoing basis and is matched monthly to the Project Commitment Report
Attend monthly CPR meetings and report on the commercial position of all designated projects
Prepare and issue Applications for Payment to Clients on a timely basis and obtain necessary Client approval
Prepare and settle Final Account within two months of completion of the project
Recover retention
Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers in order to understand current issues and progress with site
Attend Project Review Meetings on a regular basis
Raise PORF’s and issue Sub-Contract Works Orders
Issue variations to Sub-Contract Works Orders
Attend site, as applicable on a regular basis
Measure Sub-Contractor performance and quality of work by regularly visiting site
Review and approve Sub-Contractor Applications for Payment and Issue Payment Certificates on a timely basis
Authorise Purchase Orders for payment (receipting)
Manage Sub-Contractor Final Accounts
Prepare re-measure reports for Commercial Manager when required
Prepare and issue project related report as and when required by the Commercial Manager
Other ad hoc duties as required.

Required skills and qualifications
Applicants must have knowledge of JCT / NEC form of contracts.
Applicants must have experience as a QS in the construction industry, at either intermediate or senior level. You will be responsible for running multiple projects at once including subcontract procurement, payments and measures, cost management and valuations, build estimates and variation costings, forecasting and cost value reporting.
A full driving licence is required, as the role will involve work-related travel to sites.
