Contract: 37 hours per week, full time permanent, Agile working supported.
We are seeking an Enforcement Officer who can support our Building Control service and help us meet the expectations of the Building Safety Regulator.
The Role:
In close collaboration with our team of Building Control Surveyors you will be following up actual or potential breaches of the Building Regulations. This will require some understanding of the Regulations and Approved Documents and will entail negotiating with applicants to achieve compliance without the need for service of Notices. However, where this cannot be achieved you will be leading on the service of Notices and in the last resort in liaison with our Legal Team preparing evidence reports and representing the Council at Magistrates Court and other hearings. You will be focused on the correction of breaches of the Building Regulations.
The Person:
You will be able self-motivated, able to work largely without direct supervision and be able to take the initiative on many aspects of the work you will be asked to do. The role is suitable for hybrid working but you will be expected to be in the office at times on request.
