Salary: £35k – £45k + package (DOE) (Experience dependant)

A well-established, privately owned housebuilder is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a £20m+ residential development in Maidstone.

This is a long-term, site-based opportunity offering exposure to a full project lifecycle on a large scheme, rather than being restricted to a small package as is often the case within a PLC environment.

You’ll work closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, gaining hands-on experience across all commercial functions and building a strong platform for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor with day-to-day commercial duties

*

Assisting with procurement of subcontractor packages

*

Helping prepare valuations, cost reports, and forecasts

*

Assisting with variation management and change control

*

Supporting subcontractor account management and payments

*

Attending site and commercial meetings

*

Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation

Requirements

*

Experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within construction or housebuilding

*

Main contractor or housebuilder background preferred

*

Strong desire to gain site-based experience on a large project

*

Good communication, organisational, and numerical skills

*

Ambitious, proactive, and keen to progress
