Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to support a major UK Distribution Network Operator (DNO) on a high-volume distribution framework. This contract role is assessed as Outside IR35 and requires a senior planner who can operate autonomously, supporting multiple live projects across a fast-paced DNO delivery environment.

The successful candidate must have proven DNO distribution experience and be comfortable delivering planning support on a deliverables-based contract.

Key Responsibilities

Build, manage, and maintain DNO-compliant project programmes

*

Support high-volume distribution works, including rolling programmes and planned shutdowns

*

Develop logic-linked construction schedules aligned to DNO governance and standards

*

Provide programme assurance, progress reporting, and forecasting

*

Identify programme risks, constraints, and recovery actions

*

Work closely with Project Managers and delivery teams to support successful outcomes

*

Ensure planning activities align with DNO health & safety requirements

*

Support client and stakeholder meetings with clear programme insight

Essential Experience & Skills

*

Extensive experience as a Project Planner / Senior Project Planner

*

Essential: Proven experience delivering UK DNO distribution projects

*

Strong understanding of DNO standards, governance, and planning processes

*

Experience planning LV / HV distribution works, substations, and shutdowns

*

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

*

Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project

*

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

*

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
