About the Company
A fast‑growing, forward‑thinking principal contractor specialising in façade solutions, roofing, cladding, fire‑remediation and commercial glazing is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Cardiff team. The group is made up of several award‑winning construction companies, delivering critical building‑envelope and safety‑compliance projects ethically and sustainably.

With a strong pipeline of remediation and façade upgrade works across Wales and the wider UK, the business is expanding and investing heavily in its commercial and project delivery functions.

The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of specialist projects, including façade replacement and recladding, fire‑remediation programmes, roofing and external‑envelope upgrades, and scaffolding/access and glazing packages. Your work will span pre‑construction through to final account, ensuring accurate cost control, compliance and commercial strength throughout.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Prepare cost plans, estimates, BOQs and tender documentation.

* Manage project cost reporting, cashflow forecasting and CVRs.

* Lead subcontract procurement including scopes, tendering, negotiation and order placement.

* Administer contracts, variations, change control and valuations.

* Identify commercial risks and opportunities across live projects.

* Monitor project financial performance, ensuring cost control and value recovery.

* Attend site and client meetings to support commercial and operational planning.

* Verify work progress and prepare valuations in line with contract requirements.

* Ensure all commercial processes align with regulatory and company governance standards.

* Work closely with project delivery teams to maintain programme, quality and compliance.

* Support final account preparation with clients and subcontractors.

* Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting.

Required:
We’re looking for someone who brings:

* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, ideally facades, cladding, building envelope, roofing, fire‑remediation, or specialist subcontract packages.

* Strong commercial and contractual awareness.

* Confidence managing multiple projects with varying scopes.

* Experience with procurement, subcontract management, valuations and forecasting.

* A solid understanding of construction methods, regulations, and safety requirements.

* Strong communication skills and ability to engage professionally with clients and subcontractors.

* Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and scopes of work.

* A collaborative approach, working effectively with operational and project teams.

* Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction (desired but not essential with experience).
