Your new company
Established in 2009, my client is a multidisciplinary consultancy who work across a wide range of sectors, including property development, construction, investment and divestment, industrial, manufacturing, engineering, planning, energy, architecture, and hospitality.
They are looking for an experienced consultant to join their already experienced team of ten. Who are currently working with a wide range of clients on a variety of permits such as waste, air, land and water permits. As well as more complex cases such as chemical, fuel storage and energy generation permits.
Your new role
As an Environmental Permitting Consultant, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and obtaining a variety of environmental permits from regulatory agencies for a variety of clients.
- Providing regulatory guidance and reviewing permit applications to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, best practices and standards.
- Conducting environmental risk assessments to identify potential environmental impacts and risks associated with proposed projects and operations.
- Developing and implementing mitigation measures and management plans to minimise environmental impacts and enhance environmental performance.
- Liaising with clients, regulators, stakeholders and other consultants to coordinate permit applications, consultations and inspections.
- Keeping up to date with the latest developments in environmental permitting regulations, policies and guidance.
- Business development with current clients and new clients where possible, along with cross-selling other services.
What you’ll need to succeed
- A degree or equivalent qualification in environmental science, engineering or a related discipline.
- A proven track record of delivering environmental permitting services for a range of sectors and projects.
- A thorough knowledge of the Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPRs) and other relevant legislation, guidance and best practices.
- A strong understanding of the interactive environmental legislation, the planning permission and development process and the commercial implications of environmental permitting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
