Our client is a leading North West building services contractor and undertake the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems, primarily within the commercial sector serving aerospace, private industry, local government, health care and education establishments.

Their contracts department are looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager who can lead the delivery of projects on time, within budget, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety on project values up to £4M.

Role/responsibilities:

* Contract management – management / procurement of materials, labour resources, sub-contractors and performance

* Financial control – provide sound commercial acumen and ensure overall profitability of projects

* Quality – maintaining the company’s reputation for quality and ensuring relevant KPI’s are achieved

* Mentoring – providing technical, installation advice and guidance to operatives

* Health and Safety – managing and maintaining the companies health and safety responsibilities and ethos

* Business development – maintaining the company’s reputation with existing clients and developing new clients and business opportunities

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Contract Manager or a similar role

* Building Services technical qualifications (NVQ3 or HNC as a minimum)

* IT skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook

* CSCS card

Job description

As a leading and established North West building services contractor, they are looking to recruit a proven contracts manager within their contracts department

The ideal candidate would possess mechanical/building services technical qualifications and would be required to manage a variety of commercial projects, primarily within commercial, healthcare & education sectors, with project values ranging from £50k, up to £4M

The role involves: –

* Contract management with the support of an estimating and project management software package

* Quantifying, ordering and controlling of both materials and labour resources

* Procurement of materials and subcontract packages

* Assessment of the work content and value engineering for commercial advantage

* Monitoring of site progress and representation at progress meetings

* Monitoring quality and workmanship

* Providing technical and installation advice to installation operatives and clients

* Production of progress applications and valuing work for payment

* Financial management of the project including pricing and claiming contract variations

* Settling final account negotiations with our clients

* Production of risk assessments / method statements

* Monitoring and guidance of installation operatives on health and safety issues
