A south London local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Electrical Project Engineer to join their dynamic Design Service Team. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Principal Engineer within the Design Service Team, contributing to a variety of exciting projects aimed at enhancing the borough’s infrastructure. The Design Service Team is dedicated to delivering high-quality design and engineering solutions for the borough.
The team specialises in the planning, development, and implementation of projects that improve public spaces, buildings, and facilities. They focus on sustainable and innovative design practices to ensure that projects meet the needs of the community while adhering to environmental standards.
Your new role
- Assist the Principal Engineer in the design, development, and management of electrical projects.
- Conduct detailed calculations and analyses to establish standards and specifications.
- Develop potential designs and oversee project activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to design specifications.
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members, contractors, and clients to coordinate project details.
- Prepare and present technical reports and project documentation.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous project management experience is recommended.
- Relevant licenses and certifications may be required (e.g. CIBSE, IMET)
- Several years of experience working in the engineering field.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and time management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and electrical engineering principles.
What you’ll get in return
You will receive a daily rate of up to £250 per day Umbrella on a rolling contract. Working Monday to Friday 7.2 hours per day. Working from office 1 DAY A WEEK with site visits as and when needed.
