Project Manager

I’m currently working with a well-established subcontractor with a strong track record in RC frame and groundworks packages, delivering high-quality projects across the education, commercial, and residential sectors.

They are now looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of a school project in Portsmouth, overseeing the works from mobilisation through to completion.

This is a key operational role, offering autonomy, direct responsibility for site delivery, and the chance to work closely with senior leadership.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will:

Take full ownership of the day-to-day delivery of the school project

*

Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification

*

Lead progress meetings, client liaison, and reporting

*

Oversee quality control, health & safety, and site logistics

*

Work closely with the commercial team to manage costs, variations, and reporting

*

Ensure smooth communication between site teams, consultants, and directors

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

Have proven experience as a Project Manager within a subcontracting environment, ideally in RC frame or groundworks

*

Be confident managing projects on a live or occupied school site

*

Have strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills

*

Be proactive, hands-on, and capable of running the site independently
