M&E Manager
M&E Manager at Wymondley 400kV Substation (SG4)
To oversee the M&E works and support the site manager in the day to day running of the project eventually taking over as SR163 site manager for the project when the project needs dictate. Act as cover on site when the site manager is not on site and to supervise the works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information whilst ensuring the project runs efficiently, on time, on budget and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Duration Rolling 6 month contract on an 18 month project

Take responsibility for the M&E works on the project, eventually stepping up to site manager for the whole project

Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site.
*
Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed
*
Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety
*
Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner
*
To provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels
*
To maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively
*
To perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team
*
To comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions
*
To support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded
*
Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.

Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.

Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings
*
Assist with the implementation of Safe Systems of Work including issuing Permits to Dig
*
Set others to work and monitor throughout the task / project.
Minimum Qualifications
Full UK driving licence
National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8
IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the T&D industry, preferably on National Grid sites
HSG47
CITB TWS or TWC
First Aid
Desirable
HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering
Formal Electrical training
Impressed Voltage training
IOSH environmental or equivalent
Impressed Voltage awareness
Previous TP137 or SR163 experience and appointment
Physical Requirements
Site based role. Must have the ability to safely manoeuvre around a construction site including uneven and rough terrain on foot for up to 10 hours per day.
For the office element they must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk and stand. Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds.

Schedule and Work Activities
10 hour days Mon – Fri with occasional weekends as the project needs dictate
Travel
Ability to travel nationally is required for the role. Level of travel may vary over time depending on project and client requirements, but expectation is up to 100% of working The induvial should be able to book and arrange all of their own travel and accommodationtime spent travelling per year depending on project location
