Senior or Principal Structural Engineer with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy, based in Manchester
Your new company
Your new company are a leading, national multisciplinary engineering, architecture, project management and building services consultancy with over 50 years of experience designing and delivering iconic built environment schemes across the UK. Their Northern Civil & Structural team that you would be joining has 30 engineers and technicians, mostly based in Manchester.
They boast an impressive range of long-term clients across the education, sports & leisure, industrial, extra care, heritage, commercial and energy sectors, most often delivering projects in the £15m – £100m range.
Your new role
Joining the business as a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for producing structural engineering design packages across a number of medium to large development schemes, from initial concept through to completion. In addition to reporting and producing calculations, you will prepare client proposals, represent the company in front of clients and contractors, lead and mentor small design teams through various RIBA stages and monitor project financials.
What you’ll need to succeed
- You should have at least 6 years UK consultancy experience as a structural engineer.
- You will have made some progress with your Chartership preparation (either ICE or IStructE).
- You will also need to have gained experience designing a range of building structures in accordance with relevant design codes.
- You will have a strong working knowledge of structural analysis software e.g. TEDDS, Tekla, SCIA, Etabs etc.
What you’ll get in return
- In return, you will receive a competitive annual salary in the £45,000 – £55,000 range, depending on technical and leadership experience.
- Performance-based bonus and a car allowance are also included on top of your salary.
