Quantity Surveyor

My client are a specialist glazing, curtain walling, and aluminium systems contractor delivering high-quality façade solutions across commercial and residential projects.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Technical Quantity Surveyor with strong experience in aluminium systems to support projects from pre-construction through to final account.

This role requires someone who understands the technical and commercial complexities of Glazing and Curtain walling packages, working closely with design, procurement, and project delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, and valuations for aluminium glazing and curtain walling packages

*

Produce accurate take-offs from technical drawings and specifications

*

Manage variations, change control, and value engineering exercises

*

Support procurement of aluminium systems, glass, and associated façade components

*

Assess subcontractor applications, payments, and final accounts

*

Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure cost alignment with technical solutions

*

Attend project and commercial meetings with clients, consultants, and suppliers

*

Support tendering and pre-construction pricing where required

*

Ensure commercial compliance with contracts and company procedures

What We’re Looking For:

*

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within glazing, curtain walling, façades, or aluminium systems

*

Strong technical understanding of aluminium curtain walling, windows, doors, and glazing systems

*

Ability to interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications

*

Experience managing variations and complex façade interfaces

*

Good knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT / NEC)

*

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

*

Confident communicator able to work across technical and delivery teams

Qualifications & Background:

*

Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline

*

Professional accreditation (RICS or working towards) desirable but not essential

*

Background with a façade contractor, glazing specialist, or aluminium systems business preferred
