Planner – Civil Engineering
Location: North West (Divisional Office Based)
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + Company Car & Excellent Package
A well-established Tier 2 Regional Civil Engineering Contractor, operating successfully for over 50 years, is seeking an experienced Planner to join its North West team. The company delivers a strong pipeline of repeat business across public and private sector clients and is known for its collaborative, delivery-focused approach.
Project Types Include:

Infrastructure and enabling works for commercial and public sector developments
*
Earthworks and ground remediation
*
Deep drainage, utilities, and attenuation systems
*
Reinforced concrete substructures and foundations
*
Access roads, external works, and public realm schemes
*
Section 278 and local authority highway works
*
Water, utilities, power, and renewables infrastructure projects
*
Civils packages delivered alongside building projects
Role & Responsibilities:
*
Producing, maintaining, and updating detailed construction programmes
*
Developing tender, pre-construction, and contract programmes
*
Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams, and site management
*
Ensuring programmes are realistic, buildable, and aligned with construction methodology
*
Monitoring progress, updating programmes, and reporting against key milestones
*
Identifying programme risks, constraints, and opportunities
*
Supporting short-term lookahead planning and phasing strategies
*
Assisting with change management, delay analysis, and EOT submissions
*
Providing programme input for internal and client progress meetings
*
Ensuring compliance with contractual and framework requirements (NEC experience preferred)
Candidate Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Planner within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
*
Strong understanding of drainage, RC works, highways, utilities, and general civils activities
*
Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
*
Good working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
*
Ability to work collaboratively with delivery and commercial teams
*
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (desirable)
