Site Manager – School Refurbishment MUST have educational experience

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to deliver a 6-month school refurbishment project in Dulwich. The works will be carried out within a live education environment and will require careful planning, strong stakeholder communication, and a high focus on health and safety.

Project Scope

The refurbishment will include:
• Internal refurbishment of classrooms and teaching spaces
• Reconfiguration of corridors and breakout areas
• Upgrades to M&E services, including lighting, power, and ventilation
• Replacement of ceilings, flooring, and internal finishes
• Fire safety improvements and compliance upgrades
• External works including minor repairs, drainage improvements, and playground enhancements

A phased delivery approach will be required to minimise disruption, with some works planned around term time, weekends, and holiday periods.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage the site day to day from set-up through to completion
• Coordinate subcontractors and programme works in line with agreed phasing
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations within a live school environment
• Liaise with the client team, consultants, school representatives, and local authorities
• Monitor progress, quality, and programme, addressing issues proactively
• Oversee inspections, snagging, and final handover

Requirements
• Proven experience managing education or refurbishment projects
• Experience working in live or occupied environments
• Strong understanding of programme management and phased works
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications DBS
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• Knowledge of safeguarding requirements and school protocols
