Freelance Project Manager – Highways / Infrastructure

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Project Manager to join a civils and highways subcontractor, working on a new road/carriageway project. This is a key site-based role, overseeing the delivery of highways and civil engineering works on a major local infrastructure scheme.

THE ROLE:
• Overall responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of works on site
• Managing programme, budget, and resources
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with specifications, quality standards, and HSEQ
• Reporting progress and risks to senior management
• Supporting planning, temporary works, and commercial interfaces

REQUIREMENTS:
• Proven experience as a Project Manager on highways or civil engineering projects
• Strong understanding of UK infrastructure delivery
• SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold) essential
• Temporary Works awareness/coordinator beneficial
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a live environment
