Senior Quantity Surveyor – Framework
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial team, you will take responsibility for the Framework
* Hold full commercial accountability for a portfolio of projects
* Lead, manage, mentor and support a dedicated Commercial team, including regular progress catch-ups and performance discussions
* Offer commercial and contractual guidance to both the Commercial team and project delivery staff, including reviewing and drafting formal correspondence
* Prepare and contribute formal reports for inclusion in the quarterly Commercial board report
* Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual and statutory obligations
* Build and strengthen client relationships, driving continuous improvement in customer satisfaction
* Track and control contract costs against approved budgets
* Develop and maintain effective cost and financial reporting systems
* Conduct monthly/periodic Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) across the portfolio or multiple projects, and forecast final outturn figures for cost, sales and margin
* Prepare and submit valuations/applications for payment, ensuring timely client payments and cash collection in line with contract terms
* Proactively identify commercial and financial risks and opportunities, and assess options to mitigate or maximise them
* Manage supply chain procurement processes, including negotiation and placement of subcontract and supplier orders
* Support the tender process, both in preparing bids and reviewing submissions
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as required
The successful candidate must:
* Hold a degree in Quantity Surveying
* Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role
* Possess strong communication skills and confidence in client-facing situations
* Be capable of working independently and on own initiative without close supervision
* Show proven ability to lead and manage a team
* Be willing to work towards APC and achieve Chartered status (MRICS)
* Have previous Rail sector experience ideal but not a must
* Have previous experience working on a framework agreement, ideally in a reactive, maintenance or small works / small schemes environment
