Project Manager / Senior Site Agent – Rail

Location: Tackley, North of Oxford
Start Date: First week of March
Duration: Approx. 15 months

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager or Senior Site Agent to deliver a rail station improvement scheme in Tackley, north of Oxford.

The project is a minor station enhancement forming part of an Access for All programme and includes:

Installation of a new footbridge and lifts

*

Permanent closure of an existing level crossing

*

Construction of a new bridleway

The scheme value is circa £7.5m, with construction commencing in March 2026.

Key Responsibilities

*

Deliver the project safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards

*

Manage project cost control, forecasting, and financial performance

*

Lead, mentor, and develop site teams

*

Manage contractual obligations, risks, and change control

*

Ensure strong stakeholder engagement and collaborative working

*

Oversee safety, compliance, quality assurance, and risk management

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

*

Proven experience as a Project Manager or Site Agent, ideally within the rail environment

*

Strong leadership and project delivery capability

*

Excellent construction knowledge, particularly station improvement and Access for All schemes

*

Demonstrable experience managing budgets, programmes, and project risk

*

Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

*

Strong understanding of H&S, environmental, and legislative compliance

*

Commercial awareness with the ability to assess value and manage variations
