Section Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join a major dual carriageway infrastructure scheme based in Cambridge. This is a long-term freelance opportunity on a high-profile highways project, offering competitive rates and an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing a section of works on a dual carriageway project

*

Setting out, surveying, and quality assurance

*

Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification

*

Coordinating with Site Engineers, subcontractors, and site management

*

Producing RAMS, ITPs, and daily site records

*

Assisting with short-term planning and progress reporting

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Section Engineer on highways or major civils projects

*

Strong setting-out and technical knowledge

*

Background in roadworks / dual carriageway schemes preferred

*

Valid CSCS card (SMSTS preferred)

*

Ability to start ASAP and commit to a 12-month contract
