Trainee commercial manager

Role Overview

We are looking for a Trainee / Assistant Commercial Manager to support the Commercial Manager across live construction projects. This role suits someone with experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Estimator who wants to develop into a full commercial management role.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with cost control, budgets, forecasts, and CVRs

*

Support monthly valuations, variations, and final accounts

*

Assist with subcontract procurement, comparisons, and appointments

*

Help assess subcontractor applications and payments

*

Support pricing of variations and change control

*

Work closely with site teams and attend meetings as required

*

Maintain accurate commercial records and reports

Experience & Skills

*

Background as an Assistant QS or Estimator

*

Good understanding of construction commercial processes

*

Strong numerical and Excel skills

*

Organised, proactive, and keen to learn

*

Confident communicating with site teams and subcontractors
