Position: Design Manager – Main Contractor
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 /annum + Benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

The Role
After a series of project wins an exciting opportunity has arisen at one of UK’s largest main contractors. They are looking to recruit a Design Manager to play a key role in their fit out and refurbishment division.
The initial projects you would be working on are large hospital refurbishments with values between £5-£10m.

The Candidate
The successful individual will have worked for a main contractor as a Design Manager or an Assistant Design Manager / Architectural Technologist who has taken the lead on fit-out or refurbishment projects previously at RIBA stage 3+.
Hospital/NHS or similar projects experience would be preferred but not essential.
Key Skills
* Design Management experience RIBA 3+
* Ability to manage stakeholders.
* Excellent IT Skills, Numeracy and Communications skills are required.
Key Accountabilities:
* Produce and negotiate the project specific designer agreements.
* Produce & manage a realistic design programme.
* Support the implementation of Continuous Improvement and innovation.
