Quantity Surveyor – High‑End Fit‑Out | Northampton | £40,000–£60,000 + Car Allowance
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Laptop & Phone + Pension + Travel Expenses
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Northampton (Office‑based with 1–2 site visits per week)
Holiday: 22 days + Bank Holidays

The business is financially strong, debt‑free, and continuing to grow, supported by long‑standing repeat clients and a diverse project pipeline.
You’ll be based in a beautifully refurbished Northampton office with modern breakout areas, collaborative workspaces, and an in‑house specialist joinery workshop. Staff retention is excellent, with many team members staying 7–15 years due to strong investment in training, development, and progression.

The Role
You will manage the commercial delivery of fit‑out and refurbishment projects typically valued between £1m–£5m across sectors such as stadiums, museums, high‑end retail, hospitality, commercial interiors, and bespoke joinery‑led environments.
Projects are often fast‑paced, with delivery periods of 4–12 weeks, requiring strong commercial awareness, tight procurement management, and excellent subcontractor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Full commercial management from inception to completion
• Managing valuations, variations, applications for payment, and final accounts
• Procuring specialist interior and joinery packages
• Negotiating and managing subcontractor accounts
• Measuring and valuing works on site
• Running 2–4 projects simultaneously (depending on size)
• Attending site visits 1–2 days per week
• Working closely with PMs on materials, risk, and short lead‑time procurement
• Building strong, collaborative relationships with clients and supply chain partners
Person Specification
• 4+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
• Fit‑out or refurbishment experience is highly desirable
• Subcontractor QS backgrounds also considered (drylining, joinery, M&E)
• Broader general contracting or housing experience also welcomed
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge (JCT)
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
• Someone who enjoys being busy, takes ownership, and builds strong relationships
