PMO Assistant
Overview of Business:
Harken Search are partnered with a 5* PLC housebuilder where an exciting opportunity has arisen for a PMO Assistant to join a dedicated Programme Management Office supporting a large, multi‑year remediation programme across a national legacy portfolio. This role sits at the heart of programme delivery, ensuring complex workstreams stay aligned, on track, and fully governed.
This role with be a fixed term contract for one year.
The Role
Reporting to the PMO Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the administration, coordination, and oversight of a high‑profile programme with multiple interdependent projects. You’ll help maintain structure, visibility, and control across the portfolio, enabling effective decision‑making and ensuring milestones are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day portfolio and programme support across multiple workstreams
* Support programme planning, including milestone tracking and schedule management
* Maintain core governance logs: Risks, Issues, Actions, Assumptions, and Decisions
* Assist with programme reporting, including updates for senior leadership and key stakeholders
* Track financial performance and ensure adherence to agreed budgets
* Manage cross‑programme dependencies and maintain accurate dependency logs
* Support resource forecasting and contribute to programme‑wide prioritisation
* Prepare status reports and management information for leadership teams
* Challenge and uphold programme governance and project controls
* Contribute to the successful delivery of PMO strategy, services, and outputs
Essential Experience
* Advanced skills with Microsoft
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple moving parts
* Confidence working with data, reporting, and financial tracking
* A structured, detail‑driven approach to maintaining governance and documentation
