About the Opportunity
Our client is one of the UK's leading contractors within the renewable energy sector. Owing to further growth and a strong forward order book, they are seeking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in the construction sector.
This role will support a 2-year programme of decarbonisation works across hospital facilities in the Nottingham area, delivering energy and carbon reduction improvements within live healthcare environments. The successful candidate will join the Commercial team and play a key role in overseeing the commercial delivery of hospital-based projects.
You will work in partnership with Contracts Managers and Project Managers to ensure robust financial management of contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

Work in partnership with site management, providing commercial support to develop a proactive and commercially aware site team.

Ensure contractual obligations are clearly identified and effectively administered.

Review and vet contract documentation upon receipt from the Client to ensure alignment with tender submissions and subsequent negotiations.

Produce and maintain a Commercial Risk Register for each contract, monitoring risks and supporting mitigation strategies.
*
Prepare and issue enquiries for major plant & equipment and subcontract packages; commercially assess quotations and negotiate terms; issue purchase orders.

Prepare and submit Applications for Payment and/or invoices; obtain Payment Certificates and progress Client payments in accordance with contractual provisions.

Measure, submit and agree variations, loss & expense claims and/or compensation events to support timely agreement of Final Accounts.

Monitor on-site record keeping and prepare contractual notices as required.
*
Prepare and submit monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cash/spend profiles; attend Contract Review Meetings.

Authorise and code supplier and subcontractor invoices prior to submission to Finance.
*
Measure, certify and agree subcontractor interim valuations and final accounts; issue contractual notices where required.
About You
*
Proven experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level within the construction sector.
*
BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent commercially related discipline).
*
Strong working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts (Options A–E, predominantly Option A).
*
Member of a recognised professional institution (e.g. MRICS or equivalent) desirable.
*
Demonstrable experience within Construction and/or M&E environments.
*
Strong commercial awareness and sound financial acumen.
*
Experience working within live environments (healthcare experience desirable)
