Role Overview

They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can manage projects independently and contribute effectively from day one. Projects typically range in value from £100k to £10m and are primarily located across the North West, with occasional projects in the South.

The role is predominantly office-based, with regular site visits as required.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all commercial aspects of projects from pre-contract through to final account

Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flows

Monitor project progress, valuations, variations, and change control

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial procedures

Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including valuations and final accounts

Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams

Identify and implement value engineering and cost-saving opportunities

Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management

Ensure adherence to company quality, health & safety, and commercial standards

Candidate Requirements

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor

Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement routes

Ability to manage multiple projects and work autonomously

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

Willingness to attend site visits as required

Full UK driving licence
