Freelance Site Manager – Retail Fit Out

Rate: £300 – £320 per day
Contract: Freelance / Contract

The Company:

Our client is a reputable main contractor specialising in high-end retail fit out projects across Central London. With a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to deliver fast-track retail refurbishment and fit out schemes.

The Role:

As Freelance Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of retail fit out projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, and to a high standard.

Projects typically range from £500k – £2m and may involve working in live environments, tight programmes, and high-spec finishes.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing site from start to completion

Supervising subcontractors and coordinating trades

*

Ensuring strict adherence to health & safety regulations

*

Driving programme and meeting key deadlines

*

Managing quality control and snagging

*

Chairing site meetings and reporting progress to the Project Manager

*

Managing site documentation and compliance

Requirements:

*

Proven experience managing retail fit out projects

*

Strong background delivering fast-track commercial or retail schemes

*

SMSTS

*

CSCS (Black or Gold preferred)

*

First Aid

*

Strong leadership and organisational skills

*

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
