Permanent PositionI am currently working in partnership with a well-established Tier 2 Main Contractor who specialise in delivering complex cut & carve refurbishment projects across London within the commercial office, student accommodation, hospitality, leisure, and healthcare sectors.

Due to the award of a high-profile scheme, they are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a technically challenging hospitality refurbishment project near Bank, City of London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor known for delivering complex structural refurbishments in constrained Central London environments.

The Project

The project involves the cut & carve refurbishment and conversion of an existing building into a high-quality hospitality venue. Works include structural alterations, façade retention elements, significant MEP coordination, and high-specification internal fit out.

The scheme requires careful commercial management due to structural complexities, change control, and stakeholder coordination within a busy City location.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take full day-to-day commercial responsibility for the project from procurement through to final account.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the commercial lifecycle of the project
Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
Preparing and managing cost reports and forecasts
Managing interim valuations and client applications
Administering variations and change control procedures
Subcontractor commercial management, including payments and final accounts
Identifying and mitigating commercial risks
Working closely with the Project Manager and site team to ensure financial and operational performance
Maintaining strong relationships with clients and consultantsYou will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered within budget and achieves targeted margins.

Requirements

4-8 years' experience working with a main contractor
Proven experience operating at Project Quantity Surveyor level
Strong experience delivering refurbishment, cut & carve, or structural alteration projects
Hospitality, commercial, or similar sector experience preferred
Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
Excellent commercial acumen and communication skills
Experience working on projects within Central London desirableWhy Apply?
