Site Supervisor

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Supervisor (Night Shifts) to join a leading civil engineering main contractor on a major aviation infrastructure project running for 18–24 months. This is a long-term opportunity offering a competitive night rate and consistent shift patterns on a high-profile scheme.

The project involves complex airside and landside infrastructure works, including structural steel works, piling, foundations, and pile caps, so experience supervising similar heavy civil engineering packages within safety-critical environments is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise night shift operations across allocated work areas

*

Coordinate subcontractors delivering structural steel, piling, foundation, and pile cap works

*

Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS, permits, and lift plans

*

Maintain strict compliance with aviation safety procedures and principal contractor standards

*

Lead nightly briefings and toolbox talks

*

Monitor productivity and ensure programme targets are achieved during shift hours

*

Identify and escalate technical or operational issues to the Site Manager / Senior Engineer

*

Ensure all quality inspections and ITP hold points are adhered to

*

Maintain accurate shift reports, site diaries, and handover documentation for day teams

*

Oversee plant movements and ensure safe segregation in live airside environments

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects

*

Experience supervising structural steel, piling, foundations, and pile cap works

*

Previous aviation or airside experience (highly desirable)

*

SSSTS or SMSTS (essential)

*

CSCS Card (essential)

*

First Aid at Work (preferred)

*

Strong understanding of health & safety compliance in safety-critical environments

*

Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain productivity during night operations

*

Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear shift handovers
